8.4.19 Travel of Head/Carriage Unit (for Recovery from Paper Jam Caused at Maintenance Unit)

Function
This function is used for paper jam recovery. If a paper jam occurs at the maintenance unit, using
this function moves the head/carriage unit to the center of its travel, allowing you to easily remove
the jammed paper.
Operating Procedure
(1) MFC820CW/640CW
Press the 7 and 5 keys in this order in the initial stage of the maintenance mode.

Enter 7 and 5 keys in the initial stage of the maintenance mode by using
(*To enter a numerical code on models having no numerical keypad, press the

The head/carriage unit moves to the center of its travel and the "PLS OPEN COVER" appears
on the LCD.
(3) Open the scanner cover.
The "PLS CLOSE COVER" appears on the LCD. Remove the paper jammed.
(4) Close the scanner cover.
The head/carriage unit moves back to the home position.
The machine returns to the initial stage of the maintenance mode.
