Wi-Fi
DX70 and DX80 video systems that are shipped with
a built-in Wi-Fi adapter, can connect to the network
either via Ethernet or Wi-Fi.
The video system supports the following standards
for Wi-Fi:
IEEE 802.11a
IEEE 802.11b
IEEE 802.11g
IEEE 802.11n
In addition to open networks (not secured), the
following security protocols are supported:
WPA-PSK (AES)
WPA2-PSK (AES)
The video system cannot connect to both Ethernet
and Wi-Fi at the same time. If connected, Ethernet
takes precedence over Wi-Fi, and you must
disconnect the Ethernet cable in order to use Wi-Fi.

Intelligent Proximity for content sharing
In alignment with the other video systems running
CE software, DX70 and DX80 now support Cisco
Proximity. Cisco Proximity allows you to automatically
pair your smartphone, tablet, or laptop with the video
system when the device comes within range. This
feature is disabled by default, but you can enable it
from the web interface or xAPI.
DX70 and DX80 support the same services as other
video systems with CE software:
Content sharing to mobile clients (only when in a
call due to privacy concerns)
Content sharing from desktop clients
Basic call control from mobile clients
Cisco recommends only one video system with
Proximity enabled per room. More systems may
cause unstable pairing conditions. The maximum
number of simultaneous Proximity connections is
three.
The Cisco Proximity clients for smartphones and
tablets (Android and iOS), and laptops (Windows and
OS X) can be downloaded from
► http://proximity.
cisco.com. Clients for smartphones and tablets are
also available through Google Play (Android) and
Apple App Store (iOS).
