Hooking up optional components

To enhance your system, you can connect optional components. Refer to the operating instructions
provided with each component.

A DIGITAL OPTICAL IN jack
Use a digital optical cable (square, not
supplied) to connect an optional digital
component (digital satellite receiver, etc.) to
this jack. You can then listen to the sound from
the component.
B DIGITAL OPTICAL OUT jack
Use a digital optical cable (square, not
supplied) to connect an amplifier, MD deck, or
DAT deck with a digital optical input jack. You
can then output the digital audio to the
component from this system. If the jack is
covered with a cap, remove it before use.
C ANALOG IN jacks
Use audio cords (not supplied) to connect an
optional analog component (cassette deck, etc.)
to these jacks. You can then listen to the sound
from the component.

D PC LINK jack
Use an Sony PC connection kit (not supplied)
that supports this system to connect the
personal computer.
E VIDEO OUT jack
Use a video cable to connect an optional
component (such as a TV) to this jack. You can
then output the video to the component from
this unit, and enjoy the video images of DVDs,
etc.
F S VIDEO OUT jack
Use an S video cable (not supplied) to connect
an optional component (such as a TV) to this
jack. You can then output the video to the
component from this unit, and enjoy higher
quality video images.
