Recording on a tape
manually

— Manual Recording

You can record just the portions you like from
a CD or an MD on a tape. You can also record
a radio programme.
You can use TYPE I (normal) tape.

Load a recordable tape.

Press FUNCTION repeatedly to select
the desired source to record.
• DVD: To record from this system's
DVD/CD player.
• MD: To record from this system's MD
deck.
• TUNER: To record from this system's
tuner.
• OPTICAL IN: To record from the
optional component connected to the
OPTICAL IN jack.
• ANALOG IN: To record from the
optional component connected to the
ANALOG IN jacks.

Press z TAPE.
"N" lights up and the tape deck stands by
for recording.
To start recording from the side facing away
from you, press TAPE nN until
"n" lights up.

Press DIRECTION repeatedly until g
appears to record on one side or h (or
j) to record on both sides.
If you start from the reverse side, recording
stops at the end of the reverse side.

Press X TAPE, then start playing the
desired source to record.

Stop recording
Press x (or TAPE x on the
remote).
Pause recording
Press X (or TAPE X on the
remote).

Adjusting the sound

Generating a more dynamic sound
(Dynamic Sound Generator)
Press DSG on the remote.
To cancel the DSG, press DSG on the remote
again.
Adjusting the bass and treble

Press BASS/TREBLE on the remote
repeatedly to select "BASS" or "TREBLE".

While "BASS" or "TREBLE" appears, press
MENU + or – on the remote repeatedly to
adjust the level.
