3.5.2.1 Plug and Play AV Harnesses for Fatshark and GoPro
Eagle Tree offers optional plug and play AV cables for direct connection with
with Fatshark cameras, and with
Using the GoPro cable to power your camera: the red wire going between the GoPro connector and the
Vector video connector can optionally be used to power your GoPro in flight, from the Vector's 5V PSU.
If you decide not to use this function and rely on the GoPro's battery (recommended), disconnect the red wire
from the GoPro connector to the Vector video harness, and cut/cap it.
Before using the wire to power your camera, please read the following:
1) The power function of the GoPro cable is NOT compatible with the Alerter Buzzer/LED, due to
excessive current draw! Do not leave the red wire connected if you use the Alerter!
2) Some GoPro models and firmware versions do not work correctly when recording and powered. The
live video output can be distorted and not be visible, and also there are reports of GoPros locking up
during recording.
3) It is recommended that your GoPro battery is fully charged before flight, whether or not you leave the
red wire connected. This reduces load on your main pack.
If you decide to power your GoPro, it is recommended that you configure your GoPro as it will be in
flight, and do a bench test without motors (with the GoPro recording) lasting the length of a typical flight, to
confirm that the GoPro works correctly.

3.5.3 Vector Audio Harness and Audio Connections

If you do not want to hear Vector voice alerts or the acoustic variometer, it is not necessary to use the audio
harness, so this step can be skipped.
Refer to the figure:
To hear voice alerts or the acoustic variometer from the
Vector, connect the audio harness to the Vector's Audio
connector, and connect your video transmitter's audio
in servo connector (described above) to the "Tx Audio"
connector on the audio harness.
