Possible cause
You moved the
camera while
you took the
picture.
The light is low
and the flash is
set to
Flash
Off.
The camera
focused on the
wrong thing, or
was unable to
focus.
The camera

The optional
memory card
you are using is
slow and the
internal
processing
buffer filled up,
which stopped
the recording.
Solution
Hold the camera steady as you
press the
Shutter
a tripod.
In dim light, the camera requires
a longer exposure. Use a tripod
to hold the camera steady,
improve lighting conditions, or set
the flash to
Flash On

Use
Focus
Lock. (See

Set the camera to
Exposure
Mode, and try taking
the picture again. (See

If recording video, try a lower
Image Quality

on page 36) to reduce the
amount of video that needs to be
streamed to and saved to the
memory card.
If that does not help, or you are
recording audio, replace the
memory card you are using with
another one, or remove the card
and switch to internal memory.
