Chemical seal with vacuum applications

Introduction
A chemical seal has two tasks:
Separation of the sensor element from the medium
Transmission of the process pressure hydraulically to the sensor element
The chemical seal is closed off from the medium with a metallic diaphragm. The interior space
between this diaphragm and the sensor element is completely filled with a pressure transmission
liquid. The chemical seal thus forms a closed system.
Vacuum
With decreasing pressure, the boiling temperature of the pressure transmission liquid decreases.
With pressure values < 1 bar
depending on the temperature. This causes measurement deviations.
For that reason, chemical seal systems can only be used to a limited extent in a vacuum, depending
on the pressure transmission liquid, process temperature and pressure. To extend the area of ap-
plication, we offer a so-called vacuum service as an option. The following graphics show the areas
of application for the different pressure transmission liquids.
