Upgrading Limitations

1. Once the upgrade is completed and volume slicing is enabled, you cannot revert
back to the prior controller firmware version without reconfiguring the entire
system. This would require that you:
a. Back up all the data to a safe location.
b. Reinstall the earlier version controller firmware.
c. Restore the data.
2. During the upgrade, entire volumes are mapped (1:1) to slices (regardless of the
amount of data in the volume). You will not be able to further slice the volume.
However, if you do decide to further slice the volume(s), the following steps must
be followed:
a. Back up all the data that is on the volume created before the upgrade.
b. Remove any existing slices created during the upgrade.
c. Create new slices as required.
d. Restore the data to a newly created slice that has the capacity to hold the
required amount of data.
