Connecting the grounding cable to a grounding strip
Remove the hex nut from a grounding post on the grounding strip.

Cut the grounding cable to a length required for connecting to the grounding strip.

Make a connector for the grounding cable:

The S5120-28P-HPWR-SI and S5120-28P-PWR-SI switches are provided with a ring
terminal for the grounding cable to connect to the grounding strip. Attach the ring terminal to
the grounding cable as follows:

Other switch models are not provided with a ring terminal for the grounding cable to connect
to the grounding strip. To make a connector for the grounding cable, use a wire stripper to
strip 20 mm (0.79 in) of insulation off the end of the grounding cable. Then use needle-nose
pliers to bend the bare metal part to the shape as shown by callout B in

Use a wire stripper to strip 5 mm (0.20 in) of insulation off the end of the grounding
cable.
Slide the heat-shrink tubing onto the cable and insert the bare metal part into the end of
the ring terminal.
Use a crimper to secure the metal part of the cable to the ring terminal.
Slide the heat-shrink tubing down the cable until the tube covers the joint.
Use a heat gun to shrink the tubing around the cable.
