Front seats
The newly developed front seats are equipped with
partially electric seat adjustment as standard and
have a manually operated lumbar support. Fully
electric seat adjustment with memory function,
Easy Entry system and electropneumatic 4-way
lumbar support are offered as special equipment
(standard in the USA). The Easy Entry system facili-
tates access to the rear seats. In the fully electric
seat adjustment system the backrest of the front
seat is unlocked manually and the seat is moved
forward electrically with the backrest folded
forward. As an option, the front seats can also be
ordered as multicontour seats or comfort seats.
The steel seat structure includes a cushion shell
with integrated springing. On the shell are foam
pads and the seat cover with lining.
The backrest consists of a steel frame with a plastic
padding shell and integrated Pulmaflex mat, a foam
pad and a lined covering. The area below the head
restraint is covered by a shaft cap. The back of the
backrest is trimmed with a PVC film-lined frame
panel carrying the seat-back lining.

Multicontour seat

The driver and front passenger seats can be
ordered as multicontour seat as special equipment.
The multicontour seat offers the ability to further
improve comfort by adjusting the thigh length of the
seat cushion and the contour of the backrest indi-
vidually and steplessly to fit the body shape of the
driver and front passenger.
This seat adjustment for the driver and front
passenger is accomplished by inflating and
deflating air chambers that are integrated in the
seat cushion and in the backrests. The seat cushion
contains an air chamber for adjusting the thigh
length. The backrest contains air chambers in the
side bolsters and in the area of the backrest
surface. The controls are installed on the seat
cushion between the side bolsters and the center
console.
