Marking of sectional repairs
The C-pillar paneling and the outside of the longitu-
dinal member (under the paneling) carry "Y" mark-
ings that identify the recommended separation
points. Joining up the "Y" markings produces an out-
line for the cut and join.

For reasons of crash safety and durability, the use
of two-component structural repair adhesive is ab-
solutely essential.
Heat-formed ultra high-strength steel must never
be MAG-welded.

The rear fender is bonded to the wheel arch with a
soft adhesive. A repair method for this is described
in WIS.

Permissible repair methods are described in the
Workshop Information System (WIS).
All areas that are adhesive-bonded in the factory
must be adhesive-bonded when performing
repairs.
