The following

describe the

tion of some of the many safety features
which
have been a
dded for
1968.
Learn-
ing
to use
them
properly
takes
only a few
moments-and
may
save
you
a
lifetime.
There
are also
many
safety
improve-
m
ents
this
year
which
are
"
built
ill"
to
your
new
Falcon-they
won't be visible
.

do they need
operating
instructions.
For
instance,
your Falcon
is
equipped
with
an
energy
absorbing
steering
column
and
wheel a
s well
as
an
energy
absorbing
instrument
panel.
Another
important
ad-
dition
to
U
.S. vehicles
this
year
(standard
,
too)
are
smog
control
systems
which
are
an
integral part
of aU
engines
and
are
de-
signed
to
combat air pollution.
Don't
forget,
though,
that
the
most
important
safety
factor
in
auto t
ranspor-
tation
today is
you
, the driver.
Keep

points in mind:
Be
sure a

occupants
buckle their
safety belts
before
you
drive
off
.

t your
parking

EVERY
TIME
you

car.
Put
transmission in
gear (in
"PARK"
with
automatic
trans-
mission)

Use

turn
signal
before you change
lanes.
Keep

ires
inflated
to
recommended
pressures a
nd
replace
tires before they
are worn completely
smooth.
