SFPs (PPMs) are integrated fiber optic transceivers that provide high-speed serial links from a port or
slot to the network. Various latching mechanisms can be used on the SFP modules. There is no
correlation between the type of latch and the model type (such as SX or LX/LH) or technology type (such
as Gigabit Ethernet). See the label on the SFP for technology type and model. One type of latch available
is a Mylar tab as shown in
