5.2 Closing the backrest

A
When folding/unfolding the backrest, always
take great care not to get your finger caught
between the back support and the side guard
(fig.26).
While performing
wheelchair by its handles or by the horizontal
bar across the back support
Remove the seat cushion or other soft support from the seat
or back.
Take hold of the string "A" at the rear of the back support (figure
29) and pull it upwards.
With your other hand take hold of the back support by the

handles and push if forwards ( in the first part keeping the string
"A" pulled up).
Turn the backrest down until it locks in the folded position, an
audible "click" indicates that the pin "P" is engaged in the hole
of the plate "S" (figure 30).

When the folded backrest is locked, it is possibile for
the user to lift the wheelchair by holding it on the
backrest rigidizer tube.
Before lifting the wheelchair by holding it on the
backrest rigidizer tube, make sure the backrest is
properly locked.

5.3 Opening the backrest

Take hold of the string "A" at the rear of the back support (figure
31) and pull it upwards.
With one hand hold the backrest on its push handle or its
rigidizer tube.
