Multiple ISP / WAN Failover and Load Balancing
In this scenario, the SonicWALL TZ 210 is
configured in NAT/Route mode to operate
as a network gateway with multiple
Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to allow
load balancing and/or failover. Typical
zone assignments for this scenario are as
follows:
Local Network (LAN) - wired local client
computers and servers
Multiple Internet (WAN) - two Internet
service providers connected through X1
and a second open port (X3 in this case)
DMZ - (optional) wired resources
available to public Internet such as Web
servers and Mail servers
Wireless (WLAN)* - wireless local client
computers and devices
*For the TZ 210 wired appliance, wireless is
achieved by adding a SonicWALL SonicPoint
appliance to any free interface (X4-X5) and
zoning that interface as WLAN.
