the blade so the cutting tip is at the back of the
deck. Measure the distance from the flat surface
to the blade tip.
7. Move to the opposite
side of the mower deck
and turn that blade so
the cutting tip is at the
back of the deck. If this
distance measures dif-
ferently from the first
side, adjust the height
adjustment linkage (A)
directly above on the
top side of the deck until
the measurement is the
same as the first side.
8. Once the deck has been leveled side to side,
rotate the same blade tip to the front of the deck
and measure. The blade tip should be level to
1/8" (3 mm) low at the front. If the measurement
at the front of the deck is higher or more than
1/8" (3 mm) lower, the deck must be leveled.
9. To adjust the front of the deck,
loosen the cross bolts (B) in the
carrier frame.
Move the bolts
forward in the
slots to lower the
deck or move the
bolts rearward in
the slots to raise
the deck. Note:
slight movement
of the bolt in the
front carrier slots
will make a significant differ-
ence in the front deck height.

Lubrication

Always set the parking brake, shut off the power
unit engine, remove the ignition key, and ensure
all moving parts have stopped before checking
mower deck or blade condition, or attempting
any repair or adjustment.
Lubrication is required at the following locations
using a lithium complex NLGI #2 type grease.
Refer to the maintenance schedule for service
intervals and number of pumps of grease.
In order to grease the spindles and rear roller bear-
ings, the mower deck must be flipped up into the ser-
SERVICE
vice position. After flipping the deck up to the service
position, move the height adjustment bracket to set-
ting #13. After greasing the rear roller bearings, move
the height adjustment bracket to setting #1 before
flipping the deck back down to the operating position.
