    1. Introduction This document is intended to provide users of the Kontron IP Network Server NSN2U with a list of the operating systems, adapter cards, and peripherals tested by Kontron on this server platform. The Kontron IP Network Server NSN2U is integrated using the Intel ®...
  • Page 6: Adapter/Peripheral Compatibility And Stress Testing

 Kontron will NOT provide support for issues related to use of any add-in adapters or peripherals installed in the server system when an operating system that received basic installation testing only is in use.
  • Page 7: Pass/Fail Test Criteria

Kontron will enable vendors to provide driver support for add-in adapters using these operating systems.  Kontron will go through some of the steps to achieve certification to ensure its customers do not run across any problems, but the actual certification is the responsibility of the individual customer.
  • Page 8: Base System Definitions

The adapters and peripherals specified in this document may or may not have been tested on all available board/riser combinations that make up the NSN2U product family. However, Kontron will provide support for the adapters and peripherals listed when used...

    3. Supported Operating Systems The following table provides a list of supported operating systems for the Kontron IP Network Server NSN2U. Each of the listed operating systems was tested for compatibility with the Intel ® Server Board T5520UR in the base system configurations listed in section 2 of this document.

3.1 Operating System Certifications Listed below are the operating systems that Kontron will certify with the Kontron IP Network Server NSN2U. However, the customer is responsible for their own certification from the individual operating system vendors. In many cases, the customer may leverage their operating system certifications from Kontron’s testing.

USB floppy drives to load mass storage drivers (F6 option during install) Problem: Windows 2003 Server install on an NSN2U Server loads the mass-storage driver from a USB floppy but then loses the floppy drive shortly after the hard-disk has been partitioned.
  • Page 20: High Cpu Utilization Under Windows 2008 R2

    6. Copy the desired mass-storage controller driver to a floppy disk and open the txtsetup.oem file. 7. Under the desired driver section (some txtsetup.oem files support multiple drivers so you need to make sure this is under your desired driver), use the copied text to create the id entry. In most cases, the final argument in this entry will be “usbstor”.
