Types of disc for the type of connected
TV
When you use the discs recorded either PAL or NTSC, refer to this
table.

If you select "NTSC" in "TV System" ( page 53), the picture may
be clearer.

If your television is not equipped to handle PAL 525/60 signals

You can also record signals which allow you to make one copy, onto
these discs.

Disc handling

∫ How to hold a disc
Do not touch the recorded
surface.
∫ If there is dirt or
condensation on the disc
Moisture may condense on discs after they are brought inside from
the cold.
DVD-RAM and DVD-R
Clean with an optional DVD-RAM/PD disc cleaner (LF-K200DCA1,
where available).
Do not use cleaners or cloths for CDs to clean DVD-RAM and
DVD-R.
DVD-Audio, DVD-Video, Video
CD, CD
Wipe with a damp cloth and then
wipe dry.
∫ Handling precautions
≥Do not attach labels or stickers to discs. (This may cause disc
warping, rendering it unusable)
≥Do not write on the label side with a ball-point pen or other writing
instrument.
≥Do not use record cleaning sprays, benzine, thinner, static
electricity prevention liquids or any other solvent.
≥Do not use scratch-proof protectors or covers.
≥Do not use the following discs:
–Discs with exposed adhesive from removed stickers or labels
(rented discs etc).
–Discs that are badly warped or cracked.
–Irregularly shaped discs, such
as heart shapes.

Locating
Caution
≥The main unit and supplied speakers are only to be used as
indicated in this setup. Failure to do so may lead to damage to
the amplifier and/or the speakers, and may result in the risk of
fire. Consult a qualified service person if damage has
occurred or if you experience a sudden change in
performance.
≥Do not attempt to attach these speakers to walls using
methods other than those described in this manual.
Condensation Caution
This unit is not fitted with a condensation sensor.
If you bring the unit from a cold place, e.g. a car, into a warm house,
dew may form inside the unit. Do not switch it on for at least 1 or 2 hours.
Use only supplied speakers
Using other speakers can damage the unit and sound quality will
be negatively affected.
