DES-3226L Layer 2 Fast Ethernet Switch User's Guide
create snmp host
<auth_sting 32> − An alphanumeric string
used to authorize a remote SNMP manager
to access the switch's SNMP agent.
Restrictions
Only administrator-level users can issue
this command.
Example Usage:
To create an SNMP host to receive SNMP messages:
DES-3226L:4# create snmp host 10.48.74.100 v3 auth_priv
public
Command: create snmp host 10.48.74.100 v3 auth_priv public
Success.

noauth_nopriv − Specifies that there
will be no authorization and no
encryption of packets sent between the
switch and a remote SNMP manager.
auth_nopriv − Specifies that
authorization will be required, but
there will be no encryption of packets
sent between the switch and a remote
SNMP manager.
auth_priv − Specifies that
authorization will be required, and
that packets sent between the switch
and a remote SNMP manger will be
encrypted.
