Configuring the switch using ACLI

Enabling logging

Use this procedure to enable the logging of system messages. For more information about
logging, see Avaya Ethernet Routing Switch 2500, 4000, and 5000 Series Logs Reference
(NN47216-600).
Procedure
1. Enter Global Configuration mode in ACLI:
2. To enable system log, enter the following command at the command prompt:

Configuring Simple Network Time Protocol

The Simple Network Time Protocol (SNTP) feature synchronizes the Universal Coordinated
Time (UTC) to an accuracy within 1 second. This feature adheres to the IEEE RFC 2030 (MIB
is the s5agent). With this feature, the system can obtain the time from any RFC 2030-compliant
NTP/SNTP server.

NN47205-500 for more information on SNTP.
About this task
You can configure the Network Time Protocol (NTP) servers for SNTP.
Procedure
1. Enable Global Configuration mode in ACLI:
