ToneCurve Utility

Using the ToneCurve Utility allows you to adjust the brightness and the con-
trast of the document to be printed. The tone curve that has been registered
can also be used by other computers on the network.
Note
The tone curve that has been created by the ToneCurve Utility and regis-
tered with the image controller can be selected only by the PPD Plug-in
Driver to be used for printing.
For details of the ToneCurve Utility, refer to the help file.
The flowchart for the operation of ToneCurve Utility is as described below.
Note
Files in excess of 10 pages cannot be added to the Test Chart.

1.
Start of the ToneCurve Utility.
2.
Selection of a printer.
3.
When a test chart is
used that has been
registered:
Select a registered test chart
from the pull-down list.
4.
Adjustment of the ToneCurve Utility.
(An adjustment can be made either
by the drag and drop of the mouse or the slider.)
5.
Verification of the output
by means of the test chart.
Click [Print] in the Print Settings screen.
Adjust the tone curve again, if necessary.
6.
Saving of the tone curve and
default setting of the tone curve
(Saved in the image controller.)
7.
Settings completed
8.
A setting is made with
the tone curve of the [Screen tab] of
the PPD Plug-in driver for printing.
When any test chart
is arbitrarily used:
Click [Add] to select a file
(restricted only to PS and
PDF files).
(The registration of up to
10 files is available.)
