3. If the level is too low, add new oil to the
prescribed level at the oil port.
4. When using an oil of different maker or viscosity
from the previous one, discard used lubricating
oil in a safe place. Never mix two different types
of oil.
5. Use the proper Engine Oil SAE according to the
ambient temperatures.
Refer to 8.2 "LUBRICANTS."
Oil used in the engine should have an American
Petroleum Institute (API)/SAE classification of
Service DS(CD). It is easier to exchange oil while
the engine is warm.
Depending on prevailing air temperature ; use oil of
viscosity SAE 15W - 40.
- Engine Oil Change
NOTE :
• Before changing the oil, be sure to stop the engine.
After the first 35 hours of operation of a new tractor
and each 75 hours thereafter, exchange oil.
1. To change the used oil, remove the drain plug at
the bottom of the engine and drain the oil
c o m p l e t e l y. Used oil can be drained out easily
when the engine is still warm.
2. Open the drain plug.
3. Fill with the new oil up to the upper notch on the
d i p s t i c k .
When the oil has to be changed to that of a
d i fferent brand or of a different viscosity, the inside
of the crank case should be washed and cleaned
with an approved cleaning fluid filled with new
engine oil, even if used hour does not reach the
hours stated above.
-Engine Oil Filter Cartridge Change
NOTE :
• Be sure to stop the engine before changing the oil
filter cartridge.
1. The oil filter cartridge must be changed every 150
service hours.
2. Apply a slight coat of oil onto the cartridge gasket.
3. To install the new cartridge, screw it in by hand.
Over tightening may cause deformation of rubber
g a s k e t .
4. After the new cartridge has been replaced, the
engine oil normally decreases a little. Thus see
that the engine oil does not leak through the seal
and be sure to read the oil level on the dipstick.
Then, refill the engine oil up to the prescribed
l e v e l .
* When the engine oil is especially dirty,
Replace the oil filter. Be careful at the time of
disassembly so as not to damage the relief valve,
regulation valve, etc. Reassemble correctly as
before. After reassembly and starting the engine, the
oil level will drop by the amount of the oil which
enters to the oil filter. Start the engine once so that
the oil will penetrate to the various parts and
check to see if there is nothing abnomal in the oil
