9. Check and Maintenance

9.1 Fuel

- Checking and Refilling
NOTE :
• Stop the engine before adding fuel. Keep away
from sparks and flames.
1. Check the fuel level. Take care that the fuel level
does not fall under the prescribed lower limit.
Fuel tank capacity
2. Use diesel fuel or No. 2 diesel fuel.
3. Use No. 1 diesel fuel, if temperature is below
1 0 o C ( 1 5 o F )
I M P O RTANT :
• Always use a strainer in refueling to prevent fuel
injection pump contamination.
• Once the fuel tank becomes empty, air is admitted
to the fuel system. If air enters the fuel system, it
must be eliminated before the engine can be
s t a r t e d .
- To eliminate air from the fuel system
Air must be eliminated:
1. When the fuel filter and pipes are removed.
2. When tank is completely empty.
3. After the tractor has not been used for a long
period of time.
NOTE :
Do not bleed the fuel system when the engine is hot.
In order to eliminate air from the fuel system, proceed
as follows
40L(42.3 u.s.qts.)
-
• Fill the fuel tank with fuel and open the fuel cock.
(Use only No. 2 diesel fuel.) (42.3 u.s. qts. : 40
• Loosen the air vent cock of the injection pump two
or three turns using hand while operating the fuel
pump on the condition of key "on".
• When there are no more air bubbles in the fuelline
which flows out, tighten as before.
I M P O RTANT :
• When the air venting is finished, fuel which does
not contain air bubbles will be filtered by the fuel
filter and sent to the fuel injection pump. Fill the
fuel tank before it becomes empty. If a diesel
system is allowed to run out of fuel, it will become
necessary to eliminate air from the fuel system
after filling the fuel tank.
