1-1. Overview of the Signamax 065-7940D-WS 24-port Gigabit Web Smart Switch
The Signamax 065-7940D-WS 24-port Gigabit Web Smart Switch is a standard switch that meets
all IEEE 802.3/u/x/z Gigabit, Fast Ethernet specifications. The switch has 20 10/100/1000Mbps TP ports
and 4 Gigabit TP/SFP transceiver slots; it supports http and SNMP interface for switch management. The
network administrator can logon to the switch to monitor, configure and control each port's activity. In
addition, the switch implements the QoS (Quality of Service), VLAN, and Trunking. It is suitable for office
application.
The 065-7940D-WS switch increases support for power saving to reduce the power consumption
with "ActiPHY Power Management" and "PerfectReach Power Management" techniques. This efficiently
saves the switch power by auto-detect when the client device is idle and detects cable length to provide
efficient power.
In this switch, Port 21, 22, 23, 24 includes two types of media --- TP and SFP Fiber; these ports
support 10/100/1000 Mbps twisted-pair (TP) or 1000 Mbps SFP Fiber interfaces, with an auto-detection
function. 1000 Mbps SFP Fiber transceivers are used for high-speed connection expansion. Please visit

for a complete selection of 1000Base SFP fiber interfaces.
10/100/1000 Mbps TP is a standard Ethernet port that meets all IEEE 802.3/u/x/z Gigabit, Fast
Ethernet specifications. 1000 Mbps SFP Fiber transceiver is a Gigabit Ethernet port that fully complies
with all IEEE 802.3z and 1000BaseSX/LX standards.
1000Mbps Single Fiber WDM bi-directional (BiDi) transceivers are designed with an optical
Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) technology that transports bi-directional full duplex signals over
a single fiber simultaneously.

Key Features in the Device
QoS:
The
offers a powerful QoS function. This function supports 802.1p VLAN tag priority and
switch
DSCP on Layer 3 of the network framework.
VLAN:
Supports Port-based VLAN, IEEE802.1Q Tag VLAN. Also supports 24 active VLANs and VLAN
ID 1~4094.
Port Trunking:
Allows one or more links to be aggregated together to form a Link Aggregation Group by the
static setting.
Power Saving:
The Power Saving feature uses "ActiPHY Power Management" and "PerfectReach Power
Management", two techniques to detect the client idle and cable length automatically and
provides the most efficient power to reduce the switch's power consumption.
