Troubleshooting
Problem
The Sound Blaster audio controls don't
work when the system is connected to an
external display through an HDMI/
Display Port cable.
My internal microphone seems to be
disabled and/or I can still hear sound
from the speakers even though I have
plugged headphones into the headphone
jack.
The fingerprint reader has problems

scanning fingers.
When using a Bluetooth headset the
audio appears to be mono and not
stereo.
7 - 12 Problems and Possible Solutions
Possible Cause - Solution
Note that Sound Blaster Audio will be disabled when you are connecting to an
external display through an HDMI or Display Port connection. See
Blaster Audio & HDMI" on page C -
You have disabled "Front panel jack detection" in Connector Settings in the
Realtek HD Audio Manager control panel. Go to the Realtek HD Audio
Manager and click the Connector Settings icon
no tick alongside "Front panel jack detection" and click OK.
When fingers are wet or sweaty the software application may have difficulty
reading a scanned finger. Make sure your fingers are clean and dry when
attempting to scan them across the sensor for detection.
This is a common issue with Bluetooth headsets. To resolve this issue do the
following (you will need to repeat this procedure after every boot up, restart,
or when the system resumes from hibernation):
1.
Go to the Devices & Printers control panel in Windows.
2.
Double-click the Bluetooth headset.
3.
Click Connect to complete the stereo connection.
OR
1.
Go to the Sound control panel in Windows.
2.
Right-click (in the Playback tab) the Bluetooth Stereo Audio device (the
default device is Headset).

Click Connect to complete the stereo connection.
