Ignition Switch/Seat Release
The ignition switch/seat release energizes the ignition, the lighting
system, and all electrical switches and buttons. It is also used to
release the operator's seat.
Off Position
In the Off position, all electrical circuits are inactive and the
ignition key can be removed. Turn the ignition switch/seat release
to the Off position and remove the ignition key when leaving the
motorcycle unattended.
On Position
In the On position, all electrical circuits are energized and the
ignition key cannot be removed. The headlamp, running lights,
taillight, and instrument lights illuminate. With the engine
stop/run switch set to the Run position (see page 40) you can start
the engine. You can also activate the emergency flashers, turn
signals, and all other electrical features.
Caution
Before starting the engine, read the instructions for starting the engine on page 60.
