CLEANING THE ANTI-STATIC DISPENSER
When changing the toner cartridge, be sure to clean
the anti-static dispenser. The anti-static dispenser
ensures that faxes and copies remain sharp and clear.
Follow the procedure below:
1. Remove the toner cartridge from the unit.
❏ Follow steps 1 to 5 of the previous paragraph
(Changing the toner cartridge)
❏ Cover the toner cartridge to prevent exposure
to direct sunlight.
2. Remove the anti-static dispenser brush from the
under the flap.
3. To clean the anti-static dispenser, hold the anti-static
dispenser cleaner as in the illustration. Gently apply
the tip of the brush to the anti-static dispenser, and
gently move the brush back and forth from one side
of the anti-static dispenser to the other.
When cleaning the anti-static dispenser:
•
Be sure not to touch any components other than
the anti-static dispenser. For example, avoid the
gears to the left of the copier rollers.
•
Be sure to use only the anti-static dispenser
cleaner provided. Using any other device could
damage the anti-static dispenser.
•
Be sure not to touch the copy rollers when
cleaning as this can adversely affect the quality
of the fax or copy.
4. When you have finished cleaning the anti-static
dispenser, return the brush to its storage position.
5. Reinsert the toner cartridge in the unit.
