GAMMA adjustment (Gm parameter)
Adjust the gamma value. The default is 0.
Press B of the control button on the printer to amplify
the half tone of each of the RGB elements towards the
bright side.
Press b of the control button to attenuate the half tone of
each of the RGB elements towards the dark side.
SHARPNESS adjustment and the print
size
The SHARPNESS adjustment is for emphasizing the
edges of objects in a picture, not for increasing the
resolution. With this adjustment, only the apparent
sharpness can be changed.
The SHARPNESS adjustment is used as a parameter for
picture quality, but if sharpness is increased too much,
the picture becomes unnatural. Basically, it is
recommended to use the default setting. If the print size
is larger, the apparent picture quality may be improved
when the SHARPNESS adjustment value is increased.
Contrast
Apart from the SHARPNESS adjustment, increasing the
contrast may make a picture look sharper. To adjust the
contrast, use DARK and LIGHT adjustments among the
MENU functions. Increasing the values of DARK and
LIGHT give a picture more contrast. However, as the
DARK and LIGHT values increase, the dark and bright
areas of a picture become blurred, respectively, because
of image data loss. It is recommended to set the DARK
and LIGHT values to +2 or +3.
