2. Loosen retaining nut until you can move the eccentric
hex
(Figure

Note: Ensure that the retaining nut produces enough
tension to keep the eccentric hex loosely seated in the
neutral arm.
3. Start the engine. If the engine does not start perform
the following:
A. Locate the proximity sensor at the right, top side
hydraulic pump
B. Verify that the proximity sensor bracket is not
bent, and that the light at the back of the sensor is
illuminated
(Figure

illuminated, adjust the sensor position; refer to
Adjusting the Proximity Sensor (page
4. Rotate the eccentric hex counterclockwise until the
front wheel starts to rotate forward, then rotate the
hex eccentric clockwise until the front wheel starts to
rotate rearward

WARNING
You must run the engine so that you can
perform the final traction adjustment. Contact
with hot or moving parts can result in personal
injury.
Keep your hands, feet, face, and other body
parts away from the muffler, other hot parts of
the engine, and other rotating parts.
5. Determine the middle position of the neutral span and
tighten the retaining nut.
Note: Perform this traction drive-neutral adjustment
at low-speed idle and verify that the neutral adjustment
is correct at high engine speed.
6. Tighten the nut securing the adjustment.
7. Shut off the engine.
