2. If the server is installed in a rack cabinet, remove the server from the rack cabinet and place it on a flat,
clean, and static-protective surface. See the Rack Installation Instructions that comes with the server. If
the server is in tower form factor, lay the server on its side for easier operation.
3. Remove the server cover. See "Removing the server cover" on page 72.
4. Remove any parts and disconnect any cables that might impede your operation.
5. Locate the AnyRAID adapter. See "Server components" on page 25.
6. Disconnect all cables from the AnyRAID adapter.
7. Do one of the following:
• For the AnyRAID adapter without an air duct, go to step 8.
• For 3.5-inch-drive server models that have an AnyRAID adapter installed with an air duct
Open the small handle
to release it from the secured position. Then, lift the AnyRAID-adapter air duct straight up and out
of the chassis.
