Clean the platen roller

Important! The platen roller should be cleaned only if you notice a diminished print quality,
such as white specks on the printed disc.
Before you begin:
1. At the back of the printer, change the
mode switch to position 3 (Diagnostic
Mode).
2. Power on the printer.
1. Access the platen roller.
a. Press the two cover latches to release the side
cover.
b. Lower the side cover.
c. Open latches 1, 2, and 3.
d. Remove the print ribbon carrier.
e. Pull out the retransfer ribbon carrier.
Note: The retransfer ribbon carrier
cannot be removed from the printer.

2. To access and select diagnostic 1, press
and hold the operator button for 2
seconds. The platen roller rotates and the
front panel Active LED blinks.
