8.4 MANUAL INPUT OF DVD/CD DRIVE DATA

When the SMAIN Assy mounted on the unit is replaced during servicing, the current DVD/CD drive data must be
copied to the new main flash memory in the drive unit.

Note: Take note of the DVD/CD drive data before replacing the SMAIN Assy.
NEVER perform manual input of drive data if the SMAIN Assy is not replaced. Current DVD/CD drive
data will be erased from the memory on the SMAIN Assy.

How to enter this mode is the same as how to enter Service mode.
See " How to Enter This Service Mode" of "6.2 SERVICE MODE FOR THE DRIVE UNIT."
How to Operate
With the above screen displayed, move the asterisk-shaped
cursor to the parameter for which you wish to input data

manually, using the LOAD A or B key.
After moving the cursor to the desired parameter, enter the
present LD status values, using the rotary selector, as
follows:
In the case of LD current, turning the rotary selector
increases the value by 1.
In the case of accumulated time of LD light emission,
turning the rotary selector increases the value in multiples of
8, 80, 800, or 8000 (default: 8000). You can change the unit
for incrementing by pressing the function keys, as shown

below:
F1: Increment by 8
F2: Increment by 80
F3: Increment by 800
F4: Increment by 8000
After entering each parameter value, pressing the rotary
selector will write the input value to the flash memory of the
SMAIN Assy.
Writing starts when the USB STOP LED lights and is
completed when it goes dark.

Reenter Service mode (by turning the unit off then back on
again) to confirm that the present DVD/CD drive data have
been stored.
