Short-circuit the two short-circuit pads for recovery on the
A
SRV Assy.
Memo:
Set SODC (IC106/IC906) to Writing mode.

Short-circuit pads on the SERVO 1 Assy

Turn the drive unit off, by pressing its POWER key.
Disconnect the control unit from the drive unit.
Disconnect the SRV Assy on which the firmware you wish to
recover is mounted from the drive unit, with the DVD/CD
drive attached. Make connections as shown in "Connection
configuration for recovery" on the previous page.

Dress the
FFC cable (40-pin) so that it will not be damaged.
Connect the PH connector (CN107) for power supply on the
SRV 1 Assy and the PH connector (CN352) on the SMAIN
Assy with the
PH cable for power supply (cable of this
unit/5-pin).
Memo:
Connect CN907 on the SRV 2 Assy with
CN353 on the SMAIN Assy.
Connect the connector for service (CN108) on the SRV 1
Assy and the connector on the RS-232C conversion board

with the PH cable (6-pin)
board.
Memo:
For the SRV 2 Assy, use CN908.
Connect the RS-232C conversion board with the PC, using
an RS-232C cable
.
To connect to a USB connector of the PC
Use a USB serial converter. The dedicated USB driver

software must have been downloaded from the Web site
of RATOC Systems, Inc.
