Adjust chain deflection by slowly mov-
ing the vehicle forward or backward.
The
deflection
the
chain
should
15 mm and 25 mm.
Tighten the chain tensioner lock bolts
to 62 N•m ± 6 N•m and caliper sup-
port bolt to 12 N•m ± 1.2 N•m.
NOTICE
Never operate this vehi-
cle with the drive chain too loose or
too tight as severe damage to the
drive components can occur.
When the adjustment is done, repeat
the above procedure to check the de-
flection several times at different spots
on the chain.
Drive Chain Sprockets
Check the sprocket axle and pinion
for distortion, excessive wear or other
damages.

NOTICE

new retaining ring each time the en-
gine sprocket is removed.
Wheels
Occasionally, wheel nuts should be re-
moved to apply anti-seize lubricant on
studs to ease future removal. This
is particularly important when ve-
hicle is used in salt-water environ-
ment or in mud. Remove one nut
at a time, lubricate then retorque to
50 N•m ± 5 N•m.
Wheel Bearing and
Bushings
Push and pull the wheels from the up-
per edge to feel the play. See an autho-
rized Can-Am dealer if there is any play.
