D 5.2.3 Parallelbetrieb (Mono)
Im Parallelbetrieb kann ein Lautsprecher mit einer
A
Impedanz ab 2 Ω angeschlossen werden (oder zwei
parallelgeschaltete 4-Ω-Lautsprecher bzw. vier par-
CH
allelgeschaltete 8-Ω-Lautsprecher). Der Lautspre-
cher muß eine Impedanz von mindestens 2 Ω besit-
zen und mindestens so stark belastbar sein, wie die
Ausgangsleistung des Verstärkers im Parallelbe-
trieb beträgt (siehe Kapitel 9 „Technische Daten").
1) Den Schalter OPERATING MODE (9) in Position
PARALLEL stellen.
2) Den Lautsprecher an die Speakon-Buchse
BRIDGED/PARALLEL (14) anschließen.
Kontaktbelegung (siehe auch Tabelle Abb. 4):
Pins 1+ und 2+ an den Lautsprecher-Pluspol
(gekennzeichnete Ader)
Pins 1- und 2- an den Lautsprecher-Minuspol
5.3 Netzanschluß
Zum Schluß den Verstärker an eine Steckdose
(230 V~ / 50 Hz) anschließen.
Achtung! Wegen der hohen Stromaufnahme den
Verstärker nur über eine extra abge-
sicherte Zuleitung anschließen. Die Si-
cherung muß mindestens 16 A betragen.
Vor dem ersten Einschalten die Regler (1+ 6) ganz
nach links auf Null drehen.
6 Bedienung
6.1 Grundeinstellung
Die Grundeinstellungen nur bei ausgeschaltetem
Gerät vornehmen.
1) Wenn das Subwoofer-Modul STA-1SUB (17) nicht
eingesetzt ist, muß der Schalter MODULE (18) auf
Position „OFF" stehen, sonst ist kein Ton zu hören.
2) Zum Schutz von Verstärker und Lautsprecher/n
sollte das Tiefstfrequenzfilter mit dem Schalter
SUBSONIC FILTER (16) eingeschaltet werden
(Position „ON"). Dadurch werden Frequenzen
unterhalb von 15 Hz herausgefiltert.
5.2.3 Parallel operation (mono)

In parallel operation a speaker with an impedance
from 2 Ω on can be connected (or two 4 Ω speakers
connected in parallel resp. four 8 Ω speakers con-
nected in parallel). The speaker arrangement must
have an impedance of at least 2 Ω and must at least
have a power capability which corresponds to the
output power of the amplifier in parallel operation
(see chapter 9 "Specifications").
1) Set the switch OPERATING MODE (9) to position
PARALLEL.
2) Connect the speaker to the Speakon jack
BRIDGED/PARALLEL (14).
Pin configuration (also see table fig. 4):
pins 1+ and 2+ to the positive pole of the speaker
(coded conductor)
pins 1- and 2- to the negative pole of the
speaker
5.3 Mains connection
Finally connect the amplifier to a mains socket
(230 V~/50 Hz).
Attention! Due to the high power consumption
connect the amplifier only via an extra
fused cable. The fuse must carry at
least 16 A.
Before switching on for the first time, turn the con-
trols (1+ 6) fully counterclockwise to "0".

6 Operation

6.1 Basic adjustment
Only carry out the basic adjustments with the unit
switched off.
1) If the subwoofer module STA-1SUB (17) is not
used, the switch MODULE (18) must be in posi-
tion "OFF", otherwise no sound can be heard.
2) To protect amplifier and speaker(s) the low cut fil-
ter should be switched on with the switch SUB-

6.2 Ein-/Ausschalten
Zur Vermeidung von lauten Schaltgeräuschen den
Endverstärker in einer Verstärkeranlage immer nach
allen anderen Geräten einschalten. Nach dem Ein-
schalten mit dem Schalter POWER (8) leuchten für
ca. 3 Sekunden die LEDs PROTECT (2). In dieser
Zeit ist die Einschaltverzögerung zum Schutz der
Lautsprecher aktiviert.
Wichtig beim Ausschalten:
Zuerst die Regler (1+ 6) ganz nach links auf Null dre-
hen. Dann mit dem Ausschalten noch ca. 3 Minuten
warten, damit die internen Lüfter das Gerät weiter
kühlen können und kein Hitzestau entsteht. Ande-
renfalls kann der Verstärker beschädigt werden.
6.3 Pegel einstellen
Bei Parallel- oder Brückenbetrieb den rechten Reg-
ler RIGHT CH (6) ganz nach links auf Null drehen,
und nur mit dem linken Regler LEFT CH (1) die
Lautstärke einstellen. Den linken Regler bzw. bei
Stereobetrieb beide Regler nur so weit wie notwen-
dig aufdrehen, bis die maximal gewünschte Laut-
stärke erreicht ist.
Vorsicht! Stellen Sie die Lautstärke am Verstärker
nie sehr hoch ein. Hohe Lautstärken
können auf Dauer das Gehör schädigen!
Das menschliche Ohr gewöhnt sich an
große Lautstärken und empfindet sie
nach einiger Zeit als nicht mehr so hoch.
Darum eine hohe Lautstärke nach der
Gewöhnung nicht weiter erhöhen
Die grünen LEDs SIGNAL (4) leuchten auf, wenn
das Ausgangssignal größer als 100 mV ist. Die roten
LEDs CLIP (3) zeigen Übersteuerungen ab einen
Klirrfaktor von ca. 0,5 % an. Die Pegelregler dann
etwas zurückdrehen.
6.4 Kein Ton zu hören?
1. Sind die Lautsprecherstecker richtig eingerastet?
2. Sind die Stecker an den Eingängen ganz hinein-
gesteckt?
SONIC FILTER (16) (position "ON"). Thus fre-
quencies below 15 Hz are filtered out.
6.2 Switching on and off
To avoid loud switching noises, always switch on the
power amplifier in an amplifier system after all other
units have been switched on. After switching-on with
the POWER switch (8) the LEDs PROTECT (2) light
for approx. 3 seconds. During this time the inrush
delay for the protection of the speakers is activated.
Important for switching off:
At first turn the controls (1+ 6) fully counterclock-
wise to "0". Then wait approx. 3 minutes before
switching off so that the internal fans continue to
cool the unit and the heat can be dissipated. Other-
wise the amplifier may be damaged.
6.3 Adjusting the level
With parallel or bridge operation turn the right control
RIGHT CH (6) fully counterclockwise to "0" and adjust
the volume only with the left control LEFT CH (1).
Turn up the left control resp. with stereo operation
both controls only as far as necessary until the max.
desired volume is reached.
Caution! Never adjust the volume on the ampli-
fier very high. Permanent high volumes
may damage your hearing! The human
ear will get accustomed to high volumes
which do not seem to be that high after
some time. Therefore, do not further in-
crease a high volume after getting used
to it.
The green LEDs SIGNAL (4) light up if the output
signal exceeds 100 mV. The red LEDs CLIP (3)
show overload from a THD of approx. 0.5 % on.
Then turn the level controls slightly backwards.
6.4 No sound can be heard?
1. Are the speaker plugs correctly locked in?
2. Are the plugs at the inputs fully plugged in?

4. Wenn das Subwoofer-Modul STA-1SUB (17)
nicht eingesetzt ist, muß der Schalter MODULE
(18) auf Position „OFF" stehen.
5. Sind die Lautsprecher entsprechend des Be-
triebsmodus richtig an die Kontakte der Spea-
kon-Stecker angeschlossen? Siehe Kapitel 5.2
„Lautsprecher" und Abb. 4.
7 Subwoofer-Betrieb
Soll der Verstärker einen oder zwei Subwoofer
betreiben, kann das als Zubehör lieferbare Sub-
woofer-Modul STA-1SUB von „img Stage Line" ein-
gesetzt werden. Das Modul arbeitet als Tiefpaß
(18 dB/Okt.), so daß nur die für den Subwoofer
benötigten Baßfrequenzen verstärkt werden.
1) Den Verstärker ausschalten.
2) Das Modul auf der Rückseite in den Verstärker
einschieben. Dabei darauf achten, daß die Buch-
senleiste des Moduls richtig auf die Stiftleiste des
Verstärkers gesteckt wird.
3) Das Modul mit den beiden Befestigungsschrau-
ben (20) sichern.
4) Den Schalter MODULE (18) auf Position „ON"
schieben.
5) Mit den beiden Schaltern FREQUENCY SELEC-
TOR (19) am Modul die Trennfrequenz einstel-
len, bei der der Subwoofer aufhören soll zu arbei-
ten (siehe technische Daten des Subwoofers).

6) Zum Anschluß der Eingänge und des / der Sub-
woofer / s siehe Kapitel 5 „Verstärker anschließen".
3. Has the correct operating mode been selected
with the switch OPERATING MODE (9)? See
chapter 5.2 "Speakers".
4. If the subwoofer module STA-1SUB (17) has not
been inserted, the switch MODULE (18) must be
in position "OFF".
5. Have the speakers correctly been connected to
the contacts of the Speakon plugs according to
the operating mode? See chapter 5.2 "Speakers"
and fig. 4.
7 Subwoofer Operation
If the amplifier is to operate one or two subwoofers,
the subwoofer module STA-1SUB by "img Stage
Line" available as an accessory can be inserted.
The module operates as a low pass preamplifier
(18 dB/Oct.) so that only the bass frequencies
necessary for the subwoofer are amplified.
1) Switch off the amplifier.
2) Insert the module at the rear side into the ampli-
fier. Watch that the connection jack rail of the
module is correctly placed onto the pin rail.
3) Secure the module with both fixing screws (20).
4) Set the switch MODULE (18) to position "ON".
5) With both switches FREQUENCY SELECTOR
(19) adjust at the module the crossover fre-
quency at which the subwoofer is to stop to ope-
rate (see specifications of the subwoofer).

6) For the connection of the inputs and the sub-
woofer(s) see chapter 5 "Connecting the ampli-
fier".
7) The use with subwoofer operation is identical to
that with normal operation (see chapter 6 "Oper-
ation").
