Using the Pattern Sequencer

Configure the settings below as required.
Item Description
Tone name Changes the tone.
Tones that can be selected
depend on the part type.
Mixer Edit Adjusts the balance
between instruments.
Solo Plays back the currently
selected part only.
Octave Changes the pitch of the
keyboard in octave units
during recording.
Tempo Changes the tempo.

• This enters record standby, indicated by "" flashing
on the screen.
• The settings below can be configured during record
standby.

Description
Item name
Chord: Starting recording of an
Playback chord accompaniment pattern starts
repeat playback of all the parts
of the pattern, except for the part
being recorded. During such
repeat playback, you can use this
setting to specify the chord type
to be used for playback by bass
and chord parts. Available
settings are "C" (C major), "C7"
(C 7th), and "Cm" (C minor).
Selecting "Off" turns off bass
and chord part notes.
Quantize: Specify either recording of notes
Quantize in the timing they are played on
the keyboard (Off) or automatic
alignment of notes with a base
note (setting other than Off).
Precount: Specifies whether a pre-count
Pre-count should sound before recording
starts after "" is touched in
record standby. Selecting "1"
sounds a one-measure pre-
count, while "2" sounds a two-
measure pre-count. Selecting
"Off" turns off the pre-count, so
recording starts as soon as ""
is touched.
Metronome: Specifies whether the
Metronome metronome should sound (On)
or not sound (Off) during
recording.

This causes the on-screen "" to change to "Y".

recording is in progress.

After you are finished recording, touch "Y".
Repeat steps 2 through 7 as required to
record other parts and/or the parts of other
elements.
Touch bo EXIT to return to the RHYTHM
EDIT MENU screen.
Save the edited rhythm using the procedure
under "Saving a User Rhythm" (page EN-34).
