This chapter outlines some general configuration rules you should
follow when configuring a storage system and introduces basic
information about SAS cabling and topologies for S12S-G1033. You
can refer to these topologies or use them as a guide for developing
your own unique topologies. A complete description of the power on
and power off procedures is also given in this chapter.
3.1

Host Connection Prerequisites

3.1.1

Host Link Cables

One (1) 120cm SFF-8088-to-SFF-8088 host link cables are included.
You can contact your vendor to purchase additional cables if you
need more than the included one. Shown below are some details of
the included SAS external cable:
Infortrend's part numbers for cables of different lengths are:
IFT-9270CmSASCab01: SAS external cable, SAS 4x to SAS 4x
(SFF-8088), 50cm.
IFT-9270CmSASCab02: SAS external cable, SAS 4x to SAS 4x
(SFF-8088), 120cm.
IFT-9270CmSASCab03: SAS external cable, SAS 4x SFF-8088 to
SFF-8470 thumbscrew type 4x, 50cm.
IFT-9270CmSASCab04: SAS external cable, SAS 4x SFF-8088 to
SFF-8470 thumbscrew type 4x, 120cm.
These cables feature (28AWG x 8 pairs), 100ohm, black, UL
approved, lead-free, in 50 or 120cm cable lengths, and connectors
