S-Register Descriptions

In most bitmapped S-registers, the default bit value is 0 (which is the normal situation) and only
the nondefault situation is described. Some reserved bits are for factory use, and the user should
not change them.

S0=
Sets the number of rings on which the Model
XM128 modem answers; 0 value disables
auto-answer.
S1=
Counts and stores number of rings from an
incoming call.
S2=
Defines escape code character, default [+]
(43 dec.).
S3=
Defines ASCII carriage return.
S4=
Defines ASCII line feed.
S5=
Defines ASCII backspace.
S7=
Sets duration, in number of seconds, that the
Model XM128 modem waits for a carrier.
S8=
Sets duration, in seconds, for the pause and
repeat commands. For more information, refer
to Table C-1 on page C-2.
