Align the three slots on the focus ring with the three alignment pins on the end of the lens barrel, and
then press it into place.

Depending on the focus setting, the focus ring may not appear to fully seat itself. Turn the ring
clockwise. It should move inward until it nearly touches the zoom ring.

Place the lens cap over the focus ring.
