Important information

- Fill the water tank 8 with fresh, cold water
only and change daily.
- Place only NESPRESSO
ledge. Other objects may damage the
appliance.
- Use undamaged NESPRESSO
only. Deformed or torn capsules may stick in
the appliance and damage it.
Frost protection:
To prevent frost damage during transportation
and storage, completely empty the appliance
beforehand.

Switch on the appliance, Ready is
displayed.
S
Press button
S
When Steam ready is displayed, remove
and empty the water tank.
S
Ignore the Fill water display and press the
button P 4 again.
S
Wait until the appliance stops pumping.
S
Pour the remaining water out of the drip
tray 14 and switch off the appliance with
the mains switch 17.

Before using your
appliance for the first time
Switching on the appliance

Re insert the mains plug.
S
Fill the water tank 8 with fresh, cold water
and insert into the appliance.
S
Set the mains switch 17 to I.
The factory setting Sprache (language) and
Deutsch (German) light up alternately on
display 5.

or + 3 and save with button

To acknowledge Deutsch:
Press button P 4. Standby is now
displayed.
S
Press button 1.
Wait and Rinsing are now indicated on
display 5.
The appliance heats up and is rinsed.
A little water runs into the drip tray 14.
S
Rinse the appliance without
NESPRESSO capsule. Place an
R
adequately large receptacle under the coffee
outlet 18 and press button
S
Repeat the process 4x.
S
Empty the receptacle and place under the
frothing device 12.
S
Put the hot water/steam lever 9 in
a horizontal position and draw approx. 0.5 l
of water.
The appliance is now ready to use.
Ready is indicated on display 5.
If Deutsch has already been
i
acknowledged but a different language is
required, see the chapter on Changing
standard settings".
Water hardness
The preset water hardness is 3.
The water hardness can be ascertained with the
enclosed test strip or by asking your local water
supply company.
To change the water hardness, see the chapter
on Changing standard settings".
Power save mode
If the appliance is not used for one hour, it
automatically switches to power save mode.
Power save is indicated on display 5.
This function can be switched on and off in
Standard settings.
The warming plate 6 is not switched off in
i
power save mode.
