The vehicle owner is always responsible for arranging the
inspection.
Pressure regulating devices and hoses must be replaced with
new ones no more than 10 years after their date of manufac-
ture (every 8 years if used commercially). This is the responsi-
bility of the operator.
Liquid gas equipment must not be used when refuelling, in
multi-storey car parks, in garages, or on ferries.
During the initial operation of a brand new appliance (or after
it has not been used for some time), small quantities of fumes
and a slight odour may briefly occur. It is a good idea to allow
the device to run at maximum output during this time, and
ensure that the area is well ventilated.
Any unusual burner noise or flame blow-off suggests a fault in
the gas pressure regulation system, and makes it necessary to
check the gas pressure regulation system.
Heat-sensitive objects such as spray cans or flammable liq-
uids may not be stored in the same compartment where the
heater is installed because, under certain conditions, this area
may be subject to elevated temperatures.
Only pressure regulating equipment that complies with
EN 16129 (in vehicles) or EN ISO 10239 (for boats) with a
fixed output pressure of 30 mbar may be used for the gas
system. The flow rate of the pressure regulating equipment
must correspond to at least the maximum consumption of all
devices installed by the system manufacturer.
We recommend the Truma MonoControl CS gas pressure
regulation system for vehicles and the Truma DuoComfort /
DuoControl CS gas pressure regulation system for the dual-
cylinder gas system.
At temperatures of around 0 °C and below, the gas pressure
regulation system or the changeover valve should be operated
with the EisEx regulator heater.
Controller connecting hoses that meet national regulations
must always be used in the respective country for which the
equipment is destined. These hoses must be checked regu-
larly for brittleness. For winter operation, only winter-proof
special hoses may be used.
If the the gas pressure regulation system is exposed to the
weather – particularly in commercial vehicles – the gas pres-
sure regulation system must always be protected by the
Truma protection hood (series accessories in commercial vehi-
cle mounting set).

Important operating notes

If the cowl has been placed near or directly beneath an open-
ing window, the device must be equipped with an automatic
shut-off device in order to prevent operation with the window
open.
The integrity and tight fit of the exhaust gas double duct must
be checked regularly, particularly at the end of long trips. Also
check the mounting of the unit and the cowl.
Following a blow-back (misfire) always have the exhaust duct
checked by an expert!
For heaters mounted outside the vehicle, the flexible air ducts
must be checked for damage at regular intervals. A damaged
duct may allow exhaust gas to enter the vehicle.
The cowl for exhaust gas discharge and combustion air intake
must be kept free of contamination (slush, leaves etc.) at all
times.
The integrated temperature limiter blocks the gas supply
when the unit becomes too hot. The warm air outlets and the
opening for the circulating air return must therefore not be
closed.
In the case of defects in the electronic control board, it must
be sent back with sufficient padding. If this is not done, the
warranty shall be invalidated. Always use original control
boards as replacement parts!
For heating while driving, the directive 2004/78/EC specifies a
safety shut-off device for motor caravans.
The Truma MonoControl CS gas pressure regulation system
satisfies this requirement.
If no safety shut-off device (e.g. as contained within the
Truma MonoControl CS gas pressure regulation system)
has been installed, the gas cylinder must be closed when driv-
ing and information signs must be attached in the gas cylin-
der protection box and in the vicinity of the control panel.
The safety shut-off device is also recommended for safety
reasons if caravans are being heated while driving.
Only original Truma parts may be used for maintenance and
repair work.
If exhaust gas is discharged beneath the floor, it must be en-
sured that the vehicle floor is be sealed. In addition, at least
three sides beneath the vehicle floor must be free to ensure
that the exhaust gas can escape unhindered (snow, stone
guard etc.).
