CHECKING THE IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM

1. The immobilizer system indicator light
does not come on.
1. Immobilizer system indicator light (LEDs)
S Check the immobilizer system indicator light
for continuity.
Refer to "CHECKING THE LEDs".
S Are the immobilizer system indicator light
OK?
YES
2. Voltage
S Connect the pocket tester (DC 20 V) to the
immobilizer unit coupler as shown.
Negative tester probe ! black
Positive tester probe !
red/white
S Turn the main switch to "ON".
S Measure the voltage (DC 12 V) on the immo-
bilizer unit coupler (wire harness side).
S Is the voltage within specification?
YES
IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM
NO
Replace the meter
assembly.

The wiring circuit
from the main switch
to the immobilizer
unit coupler is faulty
and must be re-
paired.

3. Wiring
S Disconnect the meter coupler and immobi-
lizer unit coupler.
S Check the immobilizer system indicator light
lead (light green) continuity.
(meter coupler – immobilizer unit coupler).
S Is the immobilizer system indicator light lead
OK?
YES
Replace the immobi-
lizer unit.
2. The LCD display does not indicated.
1. Voltage
S Connect the pocket tester (DC 20 V) to the
meter coupler as shown.

Positive tester probe !
red/white
Negative tester probe ! black/white
S Turn the main switch to "ON".
S Measure the voltage (DC 12 V) meter cou-
pler (wire harness side).
S Is the voltage within specification?
YES
Replace the meter.

mobilizer unit is
faulty and must be
repaired.
