• Spring
Damage/wear → Replace the rear shock
absorber assembly.
• Bearing
Damage/wear → Replace.
• Bolts
Bends/damage/wear → Replace.

CHECKING THE CONNECTING ARM AND
RELAY ARM
1. Check:
• Connecting arm "1"
• Relay arm "2"
Damage/wear → Replace.
2. Check:
• Bearings
Damage/wear → Replace.
3. Check:
• Collars
Damage/scratches → Replace.

INSTALLING THE RELAY ARM
1. Lubricate:
• Collars
• Bearings
Recommended lubricant
Lithium soap base grease
2. Install:
• Bearing "1"
• Oil seals "2"
(to the relay arm)
• Relay arm "3"
• Connecting arm "4"

REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY
TIP
When installing the oil seals to the relay arm or
connecting arm, face the character stamp of
the oil seals outside.

INSTALLING THE REAR SHOCK
ABSORBER ASSEMBLY
1. Lubricate:
• Collars
• Bearings
2. Install:
• Rear shock absorber assembly
TIP
Install the rear shock absorber assembly lower
bolt from the left.
3. Tighten:
• Rear shock absorber assembly bracket
nut
4-78
Installed depth of bearing "a"
4.0 mm (0.16 in)
Installed depth of oil seal "b"
1.0 mm (0.04 in)
