WARNING
To prevent accidental engine starting
when replacing parts or repairing the ma-
chine, remove the key from the ignition
switch and disconnect the fuel solenoid
wire [diesel engines] or the spark plug
wire(s) [gasoline engines].
CAUTION
ALWAYS use genuine factory replace-
ment parts. Substitute parts CAN result in
product malfunction and possible injury

Gearbox Replacement

Remove and replace the gearbox as follows:
1.
Remove the gearbox cover. Two (2) bolts (one on
each side) fasten the cover to mounting tabs on the
frame.
2.
Loosen the set screw fastening the PTO U-joint to
the gearbox shaft and slide the PTO shaft off the
gearbox shaft.
3.
Remove the two (2) bolts, oblong washers, and
Keps nuts that fasten the gearbox to the snowblow-
er frame.
4.
Remove the gearbox from the snowblower frame.
NOTE: The flexible coupling spider will be loose;
be sure to keep track of it. A good way to do this is
to tape it in place on the flexible coupling half that is
attached to the drive shaft.
5.
Replace the gearbox by reversing the removal pro-
cedures.
