Simple inspection and service
5. Carefully pour fresh engine oil through the oil
filler.
6. Wait for more than 5 minutes and check the oil
level using the oil level gauge.
7. Crank the engine with the starter switch, then
start the engine.
8. Let the engine idle allowing oil to circulate
throughout the engine parts. Then, stop the
engine and wait for more than 30 minutes before
checking the oil level again. Also check for pos-
sible oil leaks.
9. After adding oil to the correct level, ensure that
the drain plug, oil filler cap and oil level gauge
are securely installed.
CAUTION
Take care not to add more than the specified
quantity of oil. The engine can be severely
damaged if the correct engine oil level is not
maintained.
If the engine is frequently run at high speeds
or under heavy loads, the engine oil will
deteriorate quickly and must be replaced
sooner than specified.
WARNING
Take care not to spill engine oil as engine oil
on the exhaust manifold or other hot sec-
tions of engine could catch fire. Wipe clean
the oil if spilt.

Replacement intervals
The first transmission gear oil replacement during
the run-in period should be performed at the initial
4,000 km (2,500 miles) point.
Recommended oil:
Gear oil
API classification GL-3
SAE80 (general)
GL-3 SAE90 (warm region)
GL-4 SAE90 (tropical region)
Engine oil
API Classification CC
SAE30 or 40
(long period of high-speed driving)
