CAMSHAFT (AUTOMATIC DECOMP.) AND CAM CHAIN TENSION
ADJUSTER INSTALLATION
Install the camshaft and cam chain tension in the reverse order
of removal. Pay attention to the following points:
CAMSHAFT (AUTOMATIC DECOMP.)
• Place a wrench over the crankshaft and turn it counterclock-
wise to align the TDC mark A with the center of the grooves
B of the timing inspection hole.
Pull the cam chain upward, or the chain will be caught
between crankcase and cam drive sprocket.
To adjust the camshaft timing correctly, be sure to
align the TDC mark A with the index mark B and hold
this position when installing the camshafts.
• Just before installing the camshaft into the cylinder head,
apply MOLYBDENUM OIL SOLUTION to the camshaft jour-
nals, camshaft journal holders and cam faces. Also, apply
engine oil to the camshaft bearings.
