2.3 Embedded PICOe-GM45A Processor 2.3.1 Overview The PICOe-GM45A supports 45 nm Socket P Intel® Core™2 Duo processor (Penryn) or Intel® Celeron® M processor. The processor supports a 667 MHz, 800 MHz or 1066 MHz FSB and has a 6 MB (max.) L2 cache. The processor is shown in F igure 2-4 below.

The PICOe-GM45A must be installed in a chassis with ventilation holes on the sides allowing airflow to travel through the heat sink surface. In a system with an individual power supply unit, the cooling fan of a power supply can also help generate airflow through the board surface.
5.6.3 CPU Card Installation To install the PICOe-GM45A CPU card onto the backplane, carefully align the CPU card interface connectors with the corresponding socket on the backplane. To do this, please refer to the reference material that came with the backplane. Next, secure the CPU card to the chassis.
The optional 7.1 channel audio kit connects to the 10-pin audio connector on the PICOe-GM45A. The audio kit consists of five audio jacks. One audio jack, Mic In, connects to a microphone. The remaining four audio jacks, Line-In, Front-Out, Rear-Out, and Center Subwoofer, connect to speakers.

The PICOe-GM45A has a PS/2 connector on the external peripheral interface panel. The dual PS/2 connector is connected to the PS/2 Y-cable that came with the PICOe-GM45A. One of the PS/2 cables is connected to a keyboard and the other to a mouse to the system.
