4 While keeping the key pressed, turn
in to "START".
Note
If the engine is warm, there is no need
to press the key for choking when
turning it to "START".

Do not operate the engine with gear
case out of water.
Severe personal injury, or engine
damage will result.

Do not keep turning starter motor for
over 5 seconds, or the battery may
be consumed, potentially making the
engine starting impossible and/or
damaging the starter.
If cranking over 5 seconds fails to
start engine, return main switch to
"ON", and crank engine again after 10
seconds or more.
