9.1. Important directories

PLEASE NOTE!
Data loss!
Do not delete or modify these directories or their con-
tent otherwise data may be lost or system functionality
may be impaired.
The root partition (C:\) contains the operating system, the applications
and the "Documents" folder for the configured user.
We have listed the most important directories below and described their contents.
C:\User
This directory contains a folder for each user configured on the computer. In this
folder, there are a number of important files and folders required for starting and
operating Windows® that are hidden by default for security reasons.
C:\Programs
This directory contains the files belonging to the installed applications.
C:\Windows
The main directory for the Windows installation. This directory contains the files for
the operating system.
The second partition (D:\) is used for data backup and also contains drivers (D:\
Drivers) and utilities (D:\Tools) for your PC.
PLEASE NOTE!
Depending on the configuration of the computer, there
may be other partitions with different drive designa-
tions. Therefore, it should be noted here that the drive
designation "D:\" given here is an example and may be
different on your computer.
D:\Drivers
This directory contains copies of the drivers required for your PC. These files may be
required after a system restore.
D:\Tools
You will find additional programs and other documentation about your PC here.
D:\Recover
You will find the system recovery files here with which you can restore the comput-
er to the factory settings.
