Configuration Files
Intercom is a useful feature in an office environment to quickly connect with the operator
or the secretary. You can short press the Intercom/PTT key to automatically connect with
a preconfigured target extension for outgoing intercom calls, and the target extension
will automatically answer incoming intercom calls by default.
Push-to-talk is a variant of Intercom, you need to press and hold the Intercom/PTT key
during the push-to-talk call. As soon as the key is released, the push-to-talk call is
disconnected.
Note
For SIP-T48G IP phones, Intercom/PTT key can work only as an Intercom key. Push-to-talk
feature is not available.
You can press an Intercom/PTT key to automatically initiate an outgoing intercom call
with a remote extension.
Push to Talk Mode Enable
You can enable or disable the push-to-talk mode for the phone. If push-to-talk mode is
enabled, you can long press the Intercom/PTT key for 1.5 seconds to automatically
connect with a preconfigured target extension, and the target extension will
automatically answer incoming intercom calls by default. You need to press and hold
the Intercom/PTT key during the push-to-talk call and release it to end the call.
If push-to-talk mode is disabled, the Intercom/PTT key can work as an Intercom key only.
To configure push-to-talk mode via CommPortal phone configurator:
1.
Click on Features-> Intercom.
Mark the desired radio box in the Push to Talk Mode Enable field.

Click Save changes to accept the change.
